DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 19, 2025) – The NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship, produced by the National Cheerleaders Association and National Dance Alliance, will be among the many highlights of a busy Spring Family Beach Break in the Daytona Beach area.
Hundreds of teams from colleges and universities across the country and their families will attend the event scheduled for April 9-13 at the Ocean Center and Daytona Beach Bandshell. The championship, which has called Daytona Beach home for the past 29 years, showcases the incredible talent, dedication, and spirit of collegiate cheer and dance programs.
The largest single cheerleading and dance event in the world isn't the only college sporting event in the destination. NCAA postseason men's basketball is returning to Daytona Beach with the Purple College Basketball Invitational (CBI) on March 23-26 at the Ocean Center. The tournament will have a single-elimination bracket featuring college teams from throughout the country. Among the 11 teams participating include Queens (N.C.), Illinois State, Presbyterian, Manhattan, Northern Arizona, Army, Cleveland State, Florida Gulf Coast and Jacksonville.
Another popular event that draws visitors to the destination is the Spring Turkey Run, which is celebrating its 35th year at Daytona International Speedway on March 21-23. Car enthusiasts can check out thousands of classic cars for show and sale, a massive swap meet, arts and crafts in Artisan Alley, food and a beer festival along with so much more.
No matter the age and interest of the multi-generational families that flock to the Daytona Beach area during Spring Family Beach Break, visitors will discover countless activities to see and do in the destination that will make for long-lasting family memories.

Just Opened! PopStroke Daytona Beach: Located at the Tomoka Town Center, PopStroke is a miniature golf/family entertainment center co-owned by golf legend Tiger Woods. Guests can “Eat, Putt and Drink” to their heart's content on a pair of 18-hole scaled-down golf courses with sandtraps and greens. Other amenities at PopStroke include a restaurant, outdoor dining and games, ice cream parlor and playground.
Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure: This 55,000-square foot facility provides interactive educational experience featuring animals from both land and sea. Visitors can explore close to 40 separate exhibits including a 100,000-gallon shark exhibit and two touch pools including a 12,000-gallon stingray touch pool. There are also habitats for alligators, frogs, and lizards.
Water-themed fun at Daytona Lagoon Waterpark: Little ones can explore the Treasure Lagoon Wave Pool or Castaway Children's Play area while those looking for a rush, can ride multiple thrill slides such as Poseidon's Pass, Adventure Mountain, Kraken's Revenge, Shaka Halfpipe or Blackbeard's Revenge. The Family Entertainment Center is also open daily and offers laser tag, arcade, go-karts, Sky Maze, rock wall, and more. It's located across the street from Ocean Walk Shoppes, and just steps from the beach.
Shopping abounds: In between all the fun on the beach and attractions, there's plenty of time to shop. Daytona Beach has several shopping districts to choose from including the Riverfront Shops of Daytona Beach; ONE DAYTONA, the retail, dining, and entertainment district located across from Daytona International Speedway; and Tomoka Town Center and the Tanger Outlets, conveniently located at I-95 and LPGA Blvd.
