Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan: now open to explore with Audley Travel

Audley Travel

From the Silk Road's rural natural beauty to its monumental architecture, tailormade tour operator Audley Travel has introduced Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for its clients.

Available to book now, clients can explore these incredible countries, known for their culture, history, welcoming people and authentic embroidery and silk paper crafts.

In Uzbekistan, a highlight is Samarkand - one of the cities on the old Silk Road and a wonderful place to appreciate its 2,500-year history, beautiful buildings and monuments.  Audley's specialists recommend clients visit the Shahi Zinda necropolis to see the intricate blue tilework the region is known for, or take a walk through Registan Square to enjoy the atmosphere of opulence and grandeur that has drawn visitors to the city for so long.

In more rural Kyrgyzstan, Audley suggests a yurt stay on the shore of Lake Song-Kul, a spot tucked away in a natural bowl formed by the surrounding mountains where nomadic herdsmen set up yurt camps in the fertile pastures surrounding the lake during the summer months.

Lauren Coppola, Regional Product Manager for Central Asia at Audley Travel said: “Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are incredible countries with fascinating history and artistry, without the crowds encountered in so many other destinations. These are ideal destinations for adventurous travelers looking for something different for their 2026 trip.”

As with all of Audley Travel's trips, the experience is completely unique and designed based on clients' wishes, tastes and budget. Inspiring example itineraries to showcase what is possible include:
