Métis Crossing is adding a new wellness offering with the development of Sage & Spruce Spa. Guests can now book access to a cedar sauna and cold plunge as an added experience during an overnight stay.

Available exclusively to Métis Crossing guests, the sauna and cold plunge complement the destination's immersive cultural programming and distinctive accommodations like its Sky Watching Domes, offering a restorative way to unwind in a natural river valley setting along the North Saskatchewan River. Additional elements of Sage & Spruce Spa are planned to open later in 2026, including a dedicated welcome building and a massage treatment room. Future phases will continue to evolve as design, construction, and experiential development are completed.

The addition of Sage & Spruce Spa reflects growing momentum around wellness-forward experiences alongside unique accommodations near Edmonton. Indigenous-owned The Woods continues to expand its off-grid cabin stays, including its Wilderness Spa, which features outdoor hot and cold experiences designed for year-round use. Meanwhile, Elk Island Retreat—located close to Elk Island National Park—offers geodomes, yurts, and cabins, along with Canada's first mirrored sauna by ÖÖD House.

Together, these experiences are helping position the Edmonton region as a destination for travellers seeking thoughtfully designed accommodations paired with meaningful wellness experiences rooted in nature and place.
